Bottom-dwelling freshwater fish feed: The core application scenario for Dry Type fish feed making machines. Bottom-dwelling freshwater fish such as carp, grass carp, black carp, and crucian carp primarily feed at the bottom of the water column. The core requirements for their feed are rapid sinking and stability in the water without disintegration. The sinking feed produced by Dry Type fish feed pellet processing machines, thanks to their "no additional water replenishment + high-pressure extrusion" puffing characteristics, has a compact pellet structure, sinks quickly (3-5 seconds), and can withstand water for 8-12 hours, effectively avoiding waste and water pollution caused by floating feed. If a wet extruder is used, the produced pellet structure is loose and highly buoyant, unsuitable for the bottom-feeding habits of grass carp, resulting in a feed waste rate of over 20%.
Conventional aquatic feed for small and medium-sized fish farms: Balancing cost and quality. For the daily production of conventional aquatic feed in small and medium-sized fish farms (20-50 acres of ponds), high puffing and complex processes are not required. Cost control and ease of production are paramount. Dry fish feed production equipment is the preferred choice for producing this type of feed. Dry extruders require no additional steam system, water supply device, or drying equipment. The equipment purchase cost is only 50,000-200,000 yuan, and the energy cost per ton of feed produced is approximately 150-200 yuan, more than 50% lower than wet extruders. For example, a small to medium-sized fish farm producing mixed feed for carp and crucian carp uses a dry extruder with an hourly output of 150 kg, producing 300 kg of feed per day. The raw material cost plus energy cost is only 2.5 yuan/catties, saving 30%-40% compared to purchasing finished feed. Furthermore, dry extruders are easy to operate, requiring only short-term training and no specialized technical team, perfectly suited to the production needs of small to medium-sized fish farms.
Aquatic fry feed with low extrusion requirements: Fine and compact for optimal feeding. While some aquatic fry (such as carp and grass carp fry) require fine particles for their starter feed, high extrusion is not necessary. Instead, compact particles that do not easily disintegrate are required to avoid clogging the fry's intestines. The Dry Fish Feed Pellet Extruder machine, by replacing the die head with a smaller 1-2mm aperture and reducing the screw speed (250-300 rpm), can produce fine and compact fry feed with uniform particle size and water resistance of over 6 hours, perfectly suited to the feeding and digestion needs of fish fry. For example, in producing starter feed for carp fry, the dry extruder pulverizes raw materials such as fishmeal, soybean meal, and corn flour to 120 mesh, and after low-temperature and low-pressure extrusion, produces 1mm fine pellet feed with a protein digestibility of over 85%, significantly improving the survival rate of fish fry.
