Clogging in dry fish feed production equipment: Investigate both raw materials and parameters
Clogging often occurs in the die head and screw area. The core cause is excessively high moisture content (over 12%), uneven particle size, or excessive impurities in the raw materials, leading to dry material sticking together inside the extruder. Emergency handling: Immediately stop the machine and cool it down. Disassemble the dry type fish feed making machine, clean the die head orifice and screw for residual material using specialized tools, and replace worn dies. Preventive measures: Strictly control the moisture content and particle size of the raw materials, strengthen screening to remove impurities, and preheat the extruder to the set temperature before starting to avoid low-temperature feeding that can cause sticking.
Insufficient pellet crispness: Fine-tune and optimize the parameters of the dry type fish feed pellet processing machine
Some dog food pellets are too hard or too soft, often due to imbalances in the temperature, pressure, and speed of the extruder. Pellets too hard: Extruder temperature too high (above 160℃) or pressure too high (above 5.5MPa). Cooling to 10-15℃ and reducing pressure by 0.5-1MPa are necessary, along with increasing rotation speed by 20-30 r/min.
Pellets too soft and easily crumble: Temperature too low (below 120℃) or pressure insufficient (below 3MPa). Heating to 5-10℃ and increasing pressure by 0.3-0.5MPa are necessary. Simultaneously, check the starch content of the raw material to ensure it reaches over 40% to support extrusion.
Equipment noise and vibration: Repair parts of the dry-type floating fish feed pellet making machine
Metallic friction sounds and increased vibration during operation are often due to screw wear, bearing aging, or hard impurities in the raw material. Remedial measures: Immediately stop the machine, disassemble the extruder to check the screw wear condition; repair or replace if scratches or deformation are found; replace aged bearings and add special lubricating oil; remove hard impurities from the raw material, re-screen the material, and restart the equipment. It is recommended to calibrate the drive system of the dry floating fish feed making machine regularly to ensure a constant screw speed and avoid malfunctions caused by component wear.
